“You’re doing too much, driving yourself crazy,” he said. Right. Multitasking is overrated. According to a Stanford University study, our brains can’t really do too many things at once. We’re wired to concentrate our efforts on just one thing at a time.
Heeding my husband’s observation, I paused, realizing that for about 2 years I obsessed over Asian dumplings. Writing cookbooks is about the obsession, and I’ve chased down many dumplings to put detailed instructions down on how to make great ones at home. Similarly, I spent years researching and cooking to assemble the information and recipe collection for Into the Vietnamese Kitchen.
Now I’m on my third cookbook. It’s another single subject Asian book due out in 2012. The contract is signed and I’m working at “full tilt boogie.” Don’t worry, I won’t leave you and your dumplings in the lurch. However, I need to make the following changes to help me manage all my responsibilities well:
New Posts: Join me in making a little move. The information posted to this site will remain here. However, new information on Asian dumplings will be posted to Viet World Kitchen, my main website. I’ve maintained both for the past year and with the new book in the works, things have gotten tough. Many of you are visitors to both sites so now you’ll just be going to one. Thanks for your support and interest in Asian Dumplings -- the book and the food! This is the 100th post on this site but it’s not the last on Asian dumplings. I’m just making a move. Let’s continue our doughy conversations on Viet World Kitchen.
Asian Dumpling Tips RSS feed: Look for updates from Viet World Kitchen, a site that explores cooking throughout Asia. You’ll see information on dumplings plus a lot more recipes and tips on Asian foodways and culture.
Asian Dumpling Tips Recipe Index: I’ve put together a page listing all recipes on this site so that you can easily browse and find useful information. The Recipe Index is permanently in the top navigation bar.
How-to Videos and Helpful Hints Index: To organize the supplemental information for the Asian Dumplings cookbook, there is a new page that lists all instructional videos and dumpling-related hints. No need to search if you need to see me and my hands in action! Or, to get tips on how to plan a dumpling party. Just click Videos and Hints in the top navigation bar.
Send questionss: Feel free to shoot me a message if you get stuck. I’m only an email address away at andrea_AT_vietworldkitchen.com.

Simplify and streamline, in support of sanity! Good move.

Really sorry to know you're ending this site's RSS feed. I have no desire to join you at Viet World Kitchen, and so you have lost a big fan. Hey, I get it. Promo for this book has ended, and now you're on to your next book. Good luck.

Limes,
Just check back periodically for new information on dumplings. I'll link to it on this site via the index pages of recipes, and on the main page in a sort of "What's New" area.
As I noted and in the post on 5/20 that the information is just going to be posted elsewhere. This site was constructed as a companion site to the book and it remains so.
Thanks for your understanding and interest in Asian dumplings!

Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani will visit Iran from September 11 to 13 for talks with the Iranian leadership.
“The recent visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi to Pakistan and his meetings with Pakistani leaders will provide important substantive inputs into the visit by the Prime Minister Gilani to Iran,” the APP quoted Foreign Office Spokesperson Tehmina Janjua, as saying at the weekly press briefing.
